Come celebrate the holidays at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum this Saturday (November 20) through December 30. This exhibit spotlights eights decades of holiday season celebrations.
The special event pairs 23 decorated trees with Chrysler vehicles of various styles from throughout the decades. Evergreen trees on the top floor of the museum feature authentic ornamentation from the early 1900s through the 1980s.
Stroll through the museum and Boss Chrysler’s Garage while learning about the evolution of vehicle progression from horseless carriages to enclosed, better-engineered models. Check out the vintage trains spanning from 1911 to the early 1990s complete with beautifully preserved models including sets such as a 1920s American Flyer Electric Passenger train, a 1930s Lionel Steamer Fighter, and a 1950s Marx train.
This event is open to people of all ages. Holiday crafts will be going on every Saturday through December from 10am to 2pm. Kid-friendly characters, such as Thomas the Tank Engine, will be around for the kids to take pictures with.
The kickoff for this event will be tonight at 6:30 at the museum. Enjoy a preview of the exhibit and get into the holiday spirit with refreshments, wine tasting, and demonstrations of some of the vintage trains. Live music, a silent auction benefiting local school children, and a visit from Santa Clause will also take place.
