We are pleased to have Curtis on our team! He has worked with me for over a year now, and he came on board at Lake Orion Family Dentistry in April. Curtis is originally from Louisiana, and his family still resides there. He has an 11-year old daughter, Serena, who lives in Guam with her mother, who is on active duty.
After high school, Curtis entered the Marine Corps where he served four years’ active duty and four years inactive before moving to Texas. It was in the Lone Star State that he entered a program in which the Red Cross offered Registered Dental Assistant certification, with training from the US Airforce, in return for six months’ volunteer work. Curtis was pleased and excited to complete the program.
He then searched for a school to continue his education and earn an associate’s degree in dental hygiene. Mott Community College was a great fit, and it was the school’s RDH program that brought Curtis to Michigan. During his training at Mott, he earned a scholarship from the Wolverine Dental Hygienists Association, and just this year, Curtis was an honorary member of Who’s Who.
In addition to his RDA and RDH, Curtis holds certification in nitrous oxide administration, local anesthesia, and CPR. He adores our patients and appreciates the priority and respect they have for dental care.
Away from the office, Curtis enjoys watching UFC fights and boxing. He claims to have been a scrawny kid in school, and he never had much use for sports, other than track and field. You might also catch Curtis four wheeling or fishing in his leisure time.
