Our team wants to take on issues like tooth decay, damaged teeth, and even missing teeth, offering lifelike results. With advanced dentistry, we can do that, providing holistic treatment for your smile’s oral health concerns. In today’s blog, your Lake Orion, MI, dentist talks about the benefits of advanced dentistry.
Composite Resin Dental Fillings
When you have a cavity, we have a holistic solution. With advanced dentistry, we can treat cavities in one visit using composite resin dental fillings instead of metal materials. Composite resin is safe for all ages, biocompatible, and can be shaded to blend with your smile. In addition to treating tooth decay, we can use the same material to mask cosmetic issues and repair dental damage with a bonding procedure, again all in only one visit.
Same-Day Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are full restorations that cover the visible portion of a tooth. When in place, they cover the teeth and reshape it. We can use them to address cavities, infections, damaged teeth, or to reshape teeth and improve bite balance and chewing function. If you have missing teeth, they can even secure a dental bridge in place or restore a single tooth dental implant. In the past, receiving one meant two to three visits. But our team has embraced digital technology and CAD/CAM systems so that we can design, create, and place a crown in only one visit. You enjoy lifelike restoration same-day!
SureSmile Aligners
Do you have dental misalignment? Crooked, crowded, and overlapping teeth could all lead to complications in the health and appearance of your smile. But that doesn’t mean you have to rely on metal braces for treatment. With SureSmile aligners, we provide a barely visible and comfortable alternative to braces. You will wear a series of custom and clear aligners that will gently shift your teeth and offer a straighter smile in as little as one year for some patients. The aligners are easy to use and clean, and they are removable, so you don’t have to change your diet and brushing and flossing is now much simpler. You can even take them out for special occasions!
Dental Bridges
Advanced dentistry allows our team to treat tooth loss! We briefly mentioned dental bridges above, but these are dental prosthetics that can address minor tooth loss. If you have between one and up to three or four missing teeth in a row, we can create a bridge from lifelike ceramic to fill the gaps. The prosthetic is made from lifelike and holistic materials. The bridge will contain new teeth with crowns on one or both ends. We attach the crowns to the abutment teeth, the ones on each side of the gap and they secure your new ones firmly in place. On average, these can last about 10 to 15 years before they require replacement!
Dentures
What if you have a more advanced case of tooth loss? If you have multiple gaps in your smile, we could offer a partial denture. This contains new teeth set in a special base that looks like natural gum tissue. When in place, the new teeth fit in the gaps in your smile and the prosthetic is held in place with metal clasps that attach to natural teeth. If you have lost most or all of your teeth, then we could extract the last few and provide a full set of dentures. With this option, we replace every tooth on one or both arches, with a full set of lifelike and custom teeth set in an acrylic base. Suction or the use of adhesives will keep the new teeth in place. Both are custom-made based on detailed digital images we take of your smile, and both can last up to 10 years in some cases.
