Advanced Dentistry Treatments
The advanced technology and materials that we invest in are all parts of our greater philosophy of providing personalized dental care in a comprehensive and technologically advanced manner. We utilize conservative, minimally invasive treatment processes, and materials that are metal/mercury-free. The goal is to not only care for your smile, but to do so in a way that helps preserve your healthy, natural tooth structure and oral tissues, and that has a minimal impact on your overall health and wellbeing. That includes removing and replacing older dental restorations, such as metal fillings, that don’t line up with that philosophy. A few advanced dentistry FAQs
Q: Why don’t you place metal fillings?
A: Although the ADA has deemed the use of metal fillings as acceptable in most cases, we know that composite resin fillings provide more consistent results, lasting beauty, and healthier smiles. Because some people are allergic to mercury, and because of the potential health hazards for children, the elderly, and pregnant women, we do not place metal fillings.
Q: Can you really place a crown in one visit?
A: Thanks to CEREC technology, we can custom-design and create a porcelain crown, inlay, or onlay in about an hour, right in our own office. The CAD/CAM based technology takes highly detailed, digital images and measurements, then sends them to an on-site milling machine that crafts your restoration out of highly customized dental porcelain.
Q: What are my options for replacing lost teeth?
A: After carefully examining and assessing the overall state of your oral health, we can recommend the most appropriate solution for replacing your missing tooth or teeth. For example, a dental bridge, partial or complete denture, or dental implant-supported restoration can be designed to restore every aspect of your smile.
