Life-Simplifying Dental Technology: CEREC Restorations

July 6, 2011

Do you remember having to wear a temporary crown while the permanent one was being made? If the temporary fell off, you had to go back to the dentist to get another one put on, and still wait for the permanent crown. We have said goodbye to temporary crowns! There’s a new machine in town that has redefined the way crowns are made.

Dr. Greenfield’s state-of-the-art CEREC machine fabricates crowns in our office – so your porcelain crown does not have to be made in a dental lab. You’ll receive your durable, natural-looking dental crown in just one visit. No temporary necessary!

There is another benefit to CEREC – no more impressions. That’s right; you won’t have to sit with that gooey stuff on your teeth. Instead of traditional impressions, we take digital 3D images. After our computer registers the image, Dr. Greenfield will tweak or manipulate the design of your crown. The CEREC software and milling unit allow us to create a custom restoration in about an hour.

Does dentistry get any better than this? We stay on top of technology – so if it does, we’ll let you know!

If you have any questions about our CEREC machine or would like to schedule an appointment, please call Dr. Greenfield’s office today at (248) 693-6213. We look forward to your next visit.
