Questions and Answers
Question: If I develop some sort of symptom that seems like an oral health problem, should I research it first and then call you? What if I don’t know what it is?
Answer: You don’t need to try to figure out what’s going on with your own research. The best course of action is to contact us immediately, so we waste no time in diagnosing the issue and offering any necessary treatment
Question: If I look in the mirror and don’t see any signs of change, I don’t experience pain, and everything seems normal, does that mean my smile is healthy? Do I really need a dental checkup?
Answer: It does not mean that your smile is A-OK. It means that you don’t see signs of change (but change may be occurring nonetheless). Always come in for your regular dental checkup, so we can detect problems very early if they develop.
Question: How can you see oral health problems that I can’t see? If there aren’t any symptoms, then are you just guessing?
Answer: When we perform a dental checkup, we are capable of detecting changes in your smile that you cannot see, that you do not have the expertise to notice, or that you do not have the technology with which to find. We can diagnose problems before you recognize a change because we can see more, we know what to look for, and we rely (in part) on advanced imaging.
