Our team wants to help you and your family enjoy good oral health and a beautiful smile. To do so, we offer an array of treatments to repair damage, address oral health issues, and even correct dental misalignment. In today’s blog, your Lake Orion, MI, dentist discusses the unique treatments we offer with advanced dentistry.
Dental Fillings
Do you have a cavity? If so, we have a treatment that only takes one visit to complete! With a dental filling, we use a metal-free material that is safe for all ages, and biocompatible too. Composite resin can be shaded to blend with your tooth and stays in place for years to come. Placement only takes one visit, and you enjoy relief from toothaches and avoid the decay becoming an infection that threatens your smile’s stability. If you have a toothache, then talk to our team about advanced dentistry, so we can offer treatment that looks natural.
Same-Day CEREC Crowns
With advanced dentistry, our team can provide restoration in only one visit. No need or multiple visits! With the CEREC system, we remove structure from the tooth and then take detailed digital images and measurements, which we use in a lab setting to design the restoration. We upload the information into an onsite milling machine, which crafts your crown from lifelike and durable ceramic. We then attach the crown in the same sitting with a powerful bonding agent. Our lifelike same-day crowns can treat cavities, infection, damaged teeth, and even improve the balance of your bite too!
Porcelain Bridges
Our team also offers lifelike solutions to tooth loss with advanced dentistry. If you have between one and four missing teeth in a row, then our team can design and craft a bridge that fills the gap and protects you from tooth loss complications, such as misalignment, issues eating, and speaking limitations. The prosthetic contains new teeth, known as pontics, with crowns on each end. Made from porcelain, this can be shaded to blend with your smile and also endures bite forces and pressures with ease. We attach the crown portions to the abutment teeth on each side of the gap. Your new teeth can stay in a place for up to 15 years in some cases before replacement is necessary.
Dentures
If you have more severe tooth loss, you may need a denture. A partial addresses cases in which you have multiple gaps in your smile, but your tooth loss isn’t serious enough for a full denture. A full, as the same implies, replaces every tooth on one or both arches. We will custom-make both based on detailed digital images and impressions taken of your smile. The new teeth are made from ceramic, which can ensure bite forces with ease and be shaded to look natural. The teeth are set in a base made from acrylic, which looks like gum tissue. The partial is held in place with clasps that connect to natural teeth, and the full relies on suction and adhesives. We could also discuss supporting them with dental implants for a fixed option that lasts far longer.
SureSmile Aligners
Our team can use advanced dentistry to address misalignment too! Instead of metal braces, we can offer a series of clear and comfortable aligners that have been custom-made for your smile. Each set in the series is worn for about 20 to 22 hours a day over a period of two weeks. You then wear the next set and continue this process as your smile is gently and gradually corrected. This can offer even results and better oral health! The aligners are simple to use and clean, and they can travel with you easily too. You can even remove them before meals to avoid changes to your diet, and being removable makes brushing and flossing much easier, so you’re less likely to develop decay, periodontal issues, or stains during your treatment.
