A Solution For A Straighter Smile

While Crooked Teeth may be a good indie band, having teeth that are crooked is not a good thing. For one, it affects your smile’s appearance, and everyone wants a beautiful smile. More importantly, if you have them, they can affect your bite, cause other teeth to get damaged because of uneven bite pressure, and may cause other long-term dental issues. For those who do not want braces to help straighten teeth, your Lake Orion, MI, dentist offers SureSmile® aligners. Let us learn more about them.

What Are They?

SureSmile aligners are a discreet series of clear aligners. They are designed with accurate, 3D digital scanning technology. Their goal is to straighten crooked teeth faster. Because they are used to treat your smile’s appearance, they are less complicated to fit compared to traditional orthodontic treatments.

Why Should I Get Them?

One of the best benefits of wearing them is that they are discreet because they are clear and not as easily noticeable as traditional braces. You can also remove them when you brush and floss and when you eat.

I Am Convinced! What Next?

The first thing that you want to do before getting them is to schedule an appointment with us. We will examine your teeth to determine if you are a good candidate for them. If we feel you will benefit from the aligners, we will start by making a 3D digital impression of your teeth. This helps us custom design a treatment plan for you. They will be manufactured and sent back to us. During your follow-up appointment, we will fit them for you and ensure they are working correctly. We will schedule other appointments with you over time to check on them and to fit you with new aligners as your teeth move into the desired positions.

How Long Will I Have To Wear Them?

They are designed to be worn for at minimum 20 hours a day. You also wear them for two weeks and then switch to a new aligner. Your overall treatment, depending on your situation, may last from a few months to a couple of years.

In The Meantime…

Straightening your teeth is a good way to help with your overall oral health. Still, remember to keep up your other good habits. Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride-based toothpaste for at least two minutes each time, and floss before going to bed. And continue to schedule regular checkups and cleanings with us.
